Blog #8 End of Writing 1!

Hello everyone!! This time our English Writing Class will finish. I am a little sad. Today, I'd like to tell you about what I learned in this class this semester and how exactly my writing improved. First, I learned what is a paragraph. Before I attend this class, I don't know any rules on paragraph. For example, I should indent the first word of a new paragraph, begin each sentence with a capital letter, end each sentence with the correct punctuation, and not start each new sentence on new line. And how I write paragraph : topic sentence, supporting sentence, and concluding sentence. Second, I learned to write English sentences quickly. In timed writing, I should write a lot of details about one topic as possible in 10 minutes. It is difficult for me to write sentences in correct grammar. By these points, my writing skills have greatly improved. In fact, I became to be able to write paragraphs easily. I express my opinion in topic sentences, give some details in supporting sentences, and write what I want to say again in concluding sentences. I think my paragraphs became to read easily. And, I can write it so fast that I don’t need much time. These are how my writing improved. In next semester, I want to learn grammar. In talking, it is not needed to speak correct English sentences, but in writing, correct grammar is needed to make us to read writings easily. I think the text book; “Significant Scribbles” which I use in writing class is nice to learn grammar. So, I want to use this text book more and learn a lot of correct grammar. I want to improve my English skills!!!

Blog#7 Spring Vacation

Hello everyone! Today I'd like to tell you about how I spend in spring vacation. First, I’m going to work hard in February to earn a lot of money. I have only one part time job now. But, it brings low income for me, so I want to get another part time job. First of all, I should look for it on townwork. Second, I'm going to go snowboarding at Hakuba Goryu skiing ground with my friends.  It is located at Nagano prefecture. When I was a first grade high school  student, I snowboarded for the first time. To begin with, I have not been to mountains which are covered with snow. So, at first, it is difficult for me to get off ski lift. In this spring vacation, I am going to go snowboarding three times. I’m looking forward to snowboarding. I can’t wait!! My spring vacation have a lot of events which is so fun. In order to enjoy my spring vacation, I study hard to pass the remaining examinations.

Blog#6 Free Topic

Hello everyone! You probably can’t sleep well to study hard, but go for it!!

Today, I’d like to tell you about the person who I respect. His name is Ichiro Suzuki. Maybe, all of you know him. I think that he is one of the most famous Japanese and baseball players. There are several reasons why I respect him. First, his records are so marvelous. He is an all-around player who have good offence, defense and running. Thanks to them, he got a lot of titles. What is particularly amazing is “the annual most hit record”. In 2004, he eclipsed the record which is the number of hits in single-season. He made 262 hits. It is so amazing. Second, I like his idea. He uses gloves, bats and shoes very carefully because of to express thanks to people who made them. He said " to treat tools carefully is important to become playing baseball well". It is not practicing harder or learning from good coach. It is to express gratitude. I think this is great opinion. For these reasons, I respect him very much. Someday I want to play catch with him. Thank you for reading.

Blog#5 If I could have dinner with one person...

Hello everyone!! Today, I’d like to tell you about someone I would like to have dinner with. If I could have dinner with one person, I would choose Matsui Daisuke.

He is a professional soccer player in Japan. I have a few reasons why I choose him. First, I want to talk about local things with him. He was born in Kyoto and led a young life near my house. His kindergarten is same for me. So, as he and me have close young memories, we maybe get along well. Second, I want to talk about his soccer life. He is a great soccer player in Japan. He is one of the members of all Japan team of the south-Africa world cup. And he played soccer in the league of France which is one of the strongest leagues in the world. I love soccer very much, so I want to talk about it with him. Third, I want to talk about his wife if I can do it. His wife is Kato Rosa who is an actress. She is so cute. So, I want to know how he met with her. Thank you for reading!!

Blog#4 "My Winter Vacation"

Did you have a good time during winter vacation? Maybe all of you had various nice experiences, but I had a little bad winter vacation. I’d like to tell you about my winter vacation.

First, on the last day of the year, I enjoyed with my friends. We gathered on my friend’s house and held a nabe-party. The nabe tasted so delicious. And we greeted New Year. Then, we tried to see first sunrise. First, we thought that the top of mountain is best place to see the sunrise and looked a website. And we decided to go Ogurayama near Arashiyama, which is located at west of Kyoto city. In the website, it says that you can see beautiful sunrise. However, the gate of mountain path closed, so we couldn’t climb the mountain. Therefore, we decided to see sunrise from togetsukyo. But, in fact, the day is cloudy, so we couldn’t see it to begin with. It was not only a sad memory, but also  a good memory.

Second, January 2^nd, I had a dinner with my relative in my uncle’s house. My grandmother, my uncle and my aunt’s family gathered and ate crab-nabe. There were twelve people in all. It is once a year that we gather at same place, so we talked a lot until late at night. The next day, I had a fever. Then I knew 4/5 of my family had same symptoms. It is the truth that I knew a few days after, 9/12 members of the New Year’s party had same symptoms. We maybe had norovirus. I spend hard days.

My winter vacation was not good. So I want to enjoy spring vacation.

Blog #3 "My favorite place"

Hello everyone!!!  Today I'd like to tell you about "My favorite place”. My favorite place is "Biwako Sosui". It is located in east of Kyoto city -Yamashina. Do you know "Sosui"?  Sosui is a canal  from Biwako-lake to Kyoto. It is a heritage of Meiji Ishin. The water flows by Sosui was used for drinking, farming, and generating electricity, so Sosui supported the industry of Kyoto. When the canal opened, a lot of boats carried a lot of people.                              

 
 
 

The reason why I love Sosui is that this place is very beautiful. It have various faces . In spring, a lot of cherry blossoms bloom. In autumn, there are many maple trees.    There are many noted places to see them in Biwako Sosui.  Many people come to see them every spring and autumn. These viewings are so beautiful that I love to take a walk along Sosui. The road along it is so quiet that I can relax. So, I love this place.

 

If you come Biwako Sosui, you certainly become to love this place. I suggest you should go there. You can relax very well!!!

Blog#2 If I had ￥100,000,000

Hello everyone!! This time, I’d like to tell you about what I do if I have ￥100,000,000. 

If I have ￥100,000,000, I’d like to do many things. First, I use a half of this money to build a new house. The house which I live in now is a little old. There are a lot of cracks at various places in my house. If we have a big earthquake, probably my house will break down. So, I want to build a new, nice house. 

Second, I put into a quarter of the money eating very delicious foods. I want to eat world delicious one, so I have to go to all of the world. Traveling all of the world cost a lot of money. But, this travel is so fun.  

Third, I use some of the money to get small happiness. This is what I want to do most. For example, I use a taxi from rokkomichi-station to turukabuto-campus every day. I buy a lot of vegetables in Seikyo-restaurant, about 300grams. They are cheap for me who have ￥100,000,000. But, these things make me so happy.
